1.Main Quays comprising 11 berths total length of which is 1663 meters with depths ranging from 8.7 to 10.7 meters.

2.South Quays, which are specialized for container ships tankers and bulk cargo. They comprise 4 berths with an overall length of 600 meters and depths ranging from 10.7 to 12.7 meters.

TheThe depth of the port entrance (at the pilot station) is 61 meters, through a length of 275 meters.

1.Pilotage for vessels over 10 tons is compulsory.
2.The port is well marked by buoys and lighthouses permitting entering and leaving the port day and night.
3.The port has facilities of supplying vessels water and bunkers.
4.The port has a coastal station for communication to meet ships requirements and provide Information to facilitate loading and discharging vessels.
5.A new communication network system is under installation to link between Port Sudan, Osaif and Sawakin Ports with Khartoum, in addition to upgrading the coastal station.
